Orange Chicken and Veggie Stir Fry

Orange chicken, a staple of the Chinese takeout menu, is definitely delicious, but it’s not exactly the healthiest of foods out there. After all, the chicken is coated in batter before it’s deep-fried, and the orange sauce can be too sweet. It will load you up with calories with just one meal.

That doesn’t mean you have to give up orange chicken if you really like it. You can make a modified version of it at home that’s just as flavorful but much healthier. Try this Orange Chicken and Veggie Stir Fry recipe.


8oz diced chicken breast
1/4 tsp rice wine
1/4 tsp soy sauce
1 egg white
1 Tablespoon Corn Starch

1/4 cup orange juice
1 Tablespoon orange zest
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
2 Tablespoons honey

1 tsp garlic
1tsp ginger
Red pepper flakes

What makes this Orange Chicken and Veggie Stir Fry healthier than regular orange chicken? For one, this dish has veggies. You can use whatever vegetables you want to add to your orange chicken, like broccoli and asparagus. More importantly, this recipe skips the breading and deep-frying part.
