Alfredo is such a great and simple way to spice up your pasta night. I know pasta is a staple in my house. I remember spaghetti being a staple growing up, and I remember getting tired of it after a while. I’m sure your family gets that feeling sometimes too. This Alfredo would be a great alternative!
This meal takes about 20 minutes. It’s super easy!
You can use whatever your pasta preference is. I think the rotini or fusilli pictured is a good choice. It holds sauce well because of the texture. Some shells or wheels would also be great. You can also never go wrong with some spaghetti. It’s pasta though. Use what you like!
- 8 ounces pasta
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
- In a medium saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, margarine, milk, garlic powder and basil and stir over low heat until smooth and creamy, 10 to 15 minutes. Toss sauce with pasta and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve.
