Chicken and white sauce pizza was always a rarity, but a well-loved treat in my household. When we did order pizza, it was usually a more traditional kind with red sauce. I was one of those kids that liked pizza, but if there was too much sauce on it, I wouldn’t eat it because it reminded me too much of eating just a regular tomato (yes, I know I was wrong. I have since grown. I promise). I loved the white sauce pizzas because I never had to worry about the tomato issue.
I haven’t had a white sauce pizza in at least a decade. I should maybe change that with this Garlic Chicken White Sauce Pizza recipe! Yum! Reminds me of a Papa Murphy’s pizza.
Even though you’d think a creamy sauce would be heavier than a tomato-based sauce, I have always found the white sauce pizzas to be lighter. That could be because its toppings are usually just chicken and onion. Whatever the reason, this recipe feels like it would be perfect on a summer’s eve.
