Crusty Cornmeal Caraway Pork Chops

3 pork chops
4 oz. onion
5 garlic cloves
2 oz. green pepper
1/3.c fine yellow corn meal
1/4 c. dried cranberries
1 sweet or tart apple
2 T. ground caraway seed
1/3 c. dry sherry wine
