Meatless Meatloaf

Can you really make meatloaf without any meat? It’s a question that gets a lot of American home cooks thinking, especially if they’ve grown up in homes where meatloaf makes a regular, even weekly appearance at the dinner table. Meatloaf just isn’t meatloaf without the beef or pork… or is it? Give this recipe for meatless meatloaf a try to see for yourself.

You’d be surprised at how deceptively meaty this meatless meatloaf is. The secret is it uses dates and steak sauce. The diced dates mimic the sticky texture of ground beef while the steak sauce gives it the meaty taste and flavor. You really won’t miss the meat when you’ve had a slice of this loaf.
